Whoever said 'bigger is better' clearly hasn't met sweet Nigel! Nigel is a 10 year old Chihuahua with a sweet personality and temperament. He is only 11lbs and very calm, crate trained and house broken. However, it would be best for his new family to possibly keep him crated while gone until he learns their new routine. He is gentle and loving, and although gets along well with older dogs he does get scared of the bigger ones so it would be best to be the only dog in his new home or other small animals. Older kids would also be a better fit as well, as he can be unsure of small children and spontaneous movements. He is the perfect mix between affectionate and independent. He loves to be by you but also loves to curl up under his blanket in his dog bed for his naps. While he was getting neutered he had some dental work complete so he is more than READY to meet his new forever family. He has lots of loving years left in him to give, please consider making Nigel a part of your family!

My adoption fee is $65.00
I am spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, kept on heartworm preventative and micro-chipped prior to adoption.

In order to meet or adopt me, please complete the online application at RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org
PLEASE NOTE: Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption. Please understand that adopting an animal is a lifetime commitment to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care.

An application and home visit/meet & greet are required. A RARE representative (normally the President and/or foster parent(s) will bring the animal of interest to the home in order to ensure the right fit, perform meet & greet and answer any questions, go over vaccination and other vet paperwork etc.. An adoption trial may commence at that time, if RARE and potential adopter(s) are in agreement. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to explain the adoption process in more detail and answer any questions you may have.

*If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 4 hours driving distance due to limited resources and difficulty ensuring the right match, especially if there are already animals in the home.

**All of our pets are, or will be, spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption.

Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!
